Before Jesus died on the cross, He spoke only a few sentences, one of which was, “Into your hands I commit my spirit.”

When Pastor Bob preached his series “The Shadow of the Cross,” I was deeply moved by the surrender Jesus demonstrated.

Sometimes letting go feels incredibly hard because it involves a sense of loss. But when we surrender to God, it is never a loss. Everything in His hands is better preserved than in ours.

God, help me remember what I feel so clearly and confidently right now. Carve this wisdom into my soul, tattoo the willingness of my surrender into my heart. Let this strength guide me when I face dark waters again.

I will never fully understand how much you have done for me and how much Jesus had to suffer because of me. All I want to say is: I love you with all my heart!
