Yesterday, I posted an announcement for the online group I plan to run, and I already received responses from 20 people who want to join. Last night, I shared some concerns with my husband. Knowing that I’m not doing it for myself this time leaves me unable to prepare anything, which makes me feel a bit uneasy.
This morning, during my Bible study session, God provided me with clear instructions:
God’s instruction
This week, share the Gospel with someone. It doesn’t have to be super spiritual or even eloquent. God says do not worry about what you’ll say, He will give you the courage and words to say it (Luke 12:11-12). Just start with, “This is what Jesus means to me…”, tell your testimony, and (like with Moses and the power of God) let the Holy Spirit do the rest.
Paul talks about this, to some degree, in 1 Corinthians 2:4 “And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power.” You don’t have to worry about the “hard” part of convincing them. You just need to “demonstrate” the Gospel. Tell people about the Gospel and demonstrate it with your life. Tell them your story, and live it out in front of them.
I also came across great content in my devotional reading today, a message that God wants me to remember and share:
Three powerful temptations:
- God’s love for you will never be enough. – I am what I do. (performance)
- You are not lovable. – I am what I have. (possessions)
- You are not good enough. – I am what others think. (popularity)
My prayer for today
Lord, thank You for the gift of salvation, the invitation into abundant life with You, and for bringing the Kingdom of Heaven near to us. Give me boldness to share with those around me the good news of the Gospel and the Kingdom. I want to fulfill the Great Commission You have entrusted to all believers. Help me to do that. In Jesus’ name, amen!
