fighting the battle

In action

Takeaway from Today’s Devotional:

1. Prolonged distraction leads to division, isolation, and destruction.

2. Instead of being idle, I can use moments of waiting—like at an appointment—to call or pray for someone.

Thank you, Holy Spirit, for revealing what I need to learn during my current struggles. I’ve been practicing total surrender to God—seeking His guidance in every decision, even in small things like buying a dress. This helps me separate myself from desires that cause pain and distraction, allowing me to focus on what truly matters.

However, as a human, I need to see examples of this “new way” in action. Through this process, I’ve realized that my heart can do nothing without God’s law. I now understand why the Bible emphasizes obedience: human nature easily gets distracted and falls into darkness, and the law serves as a lifeline to keep us grounded when we lose God’s way.

Prayer is our secret weapon

Yesterday, I went to church with a friend, and when someone shared that he had brain cancer, she immediately raised her hands towards him and prayed for him. At that moment, the eyes of my heart opened, and I knew God was teaching me through her example. He places people in my life for me to follow.

Being a quick learner, I decided that from this day forward, whenever I encounter negativity, I will raise my hand and pray instead of complaining and feeling small to help. Prayer is our secret weapon, as Ephesians 6:18 reminds us. God is fighting the battle for us and I want to be a part of it too.

Lord, thank you for teaching me and for sending wonderful people into my life to guide me. Help me to stay focused, surrendered, and prayerful, trusting in You at all times.
