only one thing to do

I just got the Blu-ray for The Chosen Season 4, and I’m super excited to dive into it. In Episode 2, there’s a powerful moment when Matthew talks to Gaius, who is overwhelmed by the complications in his life. Matthew shares a profound truth: “My teacher… He makes things simple. Every morning when I wake up, my thoughts and fears are jumbled, but if I just pause for a moment and remember, I only have one thing to do today—follow Him. The rest takes care of itself.”

I rejoiced with Matthew in that moment. It deeply resonated with my own journey of surrender. As I’ve practiced letting go, I’ve realized that while we tend to complicate things, God simplifies them in ways that are powerful. His simplicity is profound, though not always easy—especially when we’re confronted with the complexities of earthly life. But I’ve found that His way is always better when we step back and see the bigger picture.

The key to making this process easier for the mind is in the scripture: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.”
