Something led me to start a conversation with my aunt. After several days of gentle preparation, she slowly began to open her heart. Deep down, I feel so excited to share the light with her. But I know I must not let that excitement take over. What I need now is patience and to wait on the Lord.

Oh Lord, search my soul. Reveal the places in me that I cannot see, the blind spots I’ve overlooked. Help me repent for the things I’ve grown too attached to, the things that have drawn my focus away from You. I lay down all my expectations and worries at Your feet. I bow before You in body, heart, and soul for every way I’ve gone astray. Please forgive my ignorance and arrogance. Be patient with me, Lord, and protect me from temptation.

My heart longs for Your pure and perfect love. Teach me how to take on the work You give me, and show me when to lay it down. For without Your presence, I am nothing.
