3 Ikea Desks

Last night, I visited the office we rent for our new business. I’m incredibly proud of the four of us—young and driven—starting this company together. Two of us are Christians, while the other two are not. We began the evening with B leading us in prayer, asking for the Lord’s blessing. We sat on the floor in our empty office, sharing pizza and champagne, excited about what lies ahead.

An hour later, we found ourselves in a heated discussion about three Ikea desks. Should we buy new ones or shop around for something used and cheaper? Money is tight since we’re just starting out. Three of us agreed to wait and be patient, but one of our partners C was eager to spend whatever it took to get the desks immediately. I told him, “Just have a little faith—the right ones will come soon. We don’t need to stress over this little thing.”

C replied, “I’ve been searching for used ones for weeks and haven’t found anything good. I don’t think it’s going to happen, and I’m willing to pay for it myself just to get it done.”

God sent 3 Ikea desks

Well, guess what? Today, I found a listing for the exact desks he wanted, in perfect condition—and the seller had three of them. Instead of spending $500, we got all three desks for $150. As soon as we set them up in the office, my partner C who doesn’t believe in God and is usually skeptical—said, “Zoey, I need to go to church.”

We all burst out laughing. I was just in awe. It felt like a direct message from God to my partner, showing him that faith can lead to miraculous outcomes.

To top it off, I also found four large pieces of furniture from someone who needed to leave town the next day—$65 for items that would’ve cost us $2000 new.

What can I say? When God provides, He truly provides.

In just 24 hours, we went from an empty office to an 80% furnished space for only $215. Furnishing a 500+ square-foot office with nice furniture at that price is nothing short of a miracle.

Thank you, Lord, for your abundant provision and the miraculous ways you show up. I am deeply grateful!
