While talking with our friend in Phoenix, he shared about his son, a brilliant tax attorney in New York, making impressive money. While he’s proud of his son’s achievements, what stood out was the sadness in his voice. He spoke about their strained relationship and how much his daughter-in-law dislikes him. It struck me deeply, especially later tonight when I stumbled upon the Peterson Academy, a place where, for $500/per year, you can learn from the best of the best anytime anywhere on your phone.
All of this, the stories, the facts, reminded me once again of what truly matters here on Earth. It’s never about the mind, it’s always about the heart. Yet, so many people miss it, choosing instead to hide behind the endless chase for success or the pursuit of being exceptionally smart. But these pursuits can never give us what truly matters, in fact, they often take us further away. The more we live in our heads, the less we know how to live in our hearts.
I’m grateful that God has purified my heart to see this truth. It’s a privilege and a blessing to bring His light into the simple lives of those around me. In the end, no amount of success or money can bring peace to the soul. What stays with us, guiding us home is the love we’ve shared and received.
I am determined to surrender all of myself to be a channel for God’s light. Lord, help me remain humble and true to You. Bless our days here in Phoenix, so that we may be a blessing to others, letting Your love flow through us to touch their lives.
