”It’s not always easy to move forward in purpose when fear strikes, but it is ultimately a choice we have. A choice to not allow fear to control your life. A choice to focus on what is true. A choice to guard your heart and mind against fear-inducing consumption. A choice to surrender control of the circumstances of your life over to God. The loving assurance is to fear not, but the choice to embrace that – even though it’s difficult – is ours. ” – unknown
When it comes to fear, I’ve realized that it’s most intense when it’s in my head. In other words, when the bad thing actually happens, I don’t feel as fearful as I imagined I would. It’s always when my mind tries to predict the future with assumptions that fear is the strongest.
I’ve only encountered God in the present moment. So, I remind myself that if this fear isn’t happening right now, then it isn’t real. If it does happen now, then God is here to help me.
I also started to collect scriptures like my emergency protein bars. When my spiritual muscle gets really sore and weak. I will gorge on them for strength.
