God’s perfect timing

Legal Papper

My loan has been pre-approved, but now I need to gather a long list of documents. I also need to prepare a similar list of documents for my mom to help me renew my Chinese ID. On top of that, my business partner is handling some legal matters, and we had to move our weekly meeting to tonight. So, the theme of today is “legal papers.”

This morning, a friend called asking for help to jump-start their car at the airport. My husband also texted me saying he forgot his lunch. I had a hunch before leaving the house that today was the day I would need to handle all the legal papers, so I brought all my documents and my husband’s lunch with me. I headed to the airport to help my friends.

Why did you doubt?

On the way to the airport, my mind was spinning with worries about all the legal papers. I almost hit a car while merging into a roundabout. My fast-beating heart reminded me to stay focused on Jesus. I took a deep breath and spent a few minutes recentering myself. A line from The Chosen I watched last night came to mind, where Peter, walking on water, lost his focus on Jesus and began to sink. When Jesus rescued him, He asked Peter, “Why did you doubt?”

Peter cried out in His arms, repeating, “I’m sorry. Please don’t let me go.”

“Why did you doubt?” echoed in my mind as I calmed down from my worrying thoughts. That line brought me back to Jesus, reminding me to trust that everything happening has already been arranged by Him for my good.

God’s perfect timing

I kept reminding myself that all I needed to focus on was the step I was taking right now, not the next two or three. After helping my friend, I stopped by my husband’s shop to drop off his lunch. Our loan broker called at the perfect time, and it was a rare occasion when both my husband and I were together during workdays. We were able to go through the contract together.

Many of the papers I needed to prepare had to be scanned and printed, and since we don’t have a printer at home, my husband’s workshop was the place God had arranged for me to be. He helped me prepare all the documents I needed. A task that seemed super hard suddenly turned into an easy one.

The last item on the list was a CPA letter, which I had no clue where to start. After calling five CPAs, I got an appointment at 2:30 PM. I had a pleasant lunch with my husband and his coworker at the shop since their boss wasn’t there today. At 2:30 PM, I met with the CPA for the first time, and it turned out we go to the same church. We ended up talking about Jesus for hours.

What an amazing day, perfectly arranged in God’s timing!
