intangible gifts

Teaching from the Holy Spirit

It’s 3:30 a.m., and I’ve been awakened by a lesson from the Holy Spirit. Once again, He has come to me in that half-dream, half-awake state to speak.

This morning’s teaching began with the Holy Spirit pointing out something curious about our cat. In the early morning, when my husband or I wake up, even before we move or make a sound, our cat comes right to our faces, purring, as though she somehow knows we’re awake the moment our consciousness leaves the dream world. In that in-between state, the Holy Spirit asked me: How does the cat know you’re awake before you make a move or a sound?

I’m still trying to fully understand this, but here’s what I’ve gathered so far:

Last night, I ended the evening with Judas heavy on my heart. I watched how, despite Jesus trying so hard to get His disciples to focus on Him, they were easily distracted. Judas, in particular, was frustrated, even angry, because he couldn’t fully use his business skills to help the ministry. This reminded me of the Zealot, a highly trained fighter, whose skills would have seemed useful in protecting Jesus and the disciples on earth. But the first thing Jesus asked of him was to throw his dagger into the river.

I can relate to Judas’ struggle. I feel like God has given me so many skills, but I’m not able to use them in the way I want. Then, it became clear to me: the way I want to use them is to serve my ego, not God. That’s why He has to strip away those impure intentions before we can receive and use our true gifts.

Intangible gifts

So, how does the cat know I’m awake without visual or auditory cues? She’s using senses beyond the physical—something intangible. We rely so much on our bodies, but our true power is not in the tangible. Even animals have a higher sense of the world around them. This is how God’s ways are meant to be understood and lived out. I want to act in tangible ways, but God is calling me to use the intangible gifts He’s given me.

Through Jesus’ teachings, people were amazed by His wonders and miracles, yet none of these would have been possible if He relied solely on the tangible. God’s ways are far higher than anything earthly. I feel deeply honored to receive such revelation, opening my eyes and heart to truly recognize my heavenly gifts and talents.

So here lies the question: how can I fulfill my intangible gifts in alignment with my Father’s will in a tangible world? Holy Spirit, guide me closely and specifically. I am committed to doing my Father’s will on earth as it is in heaven.
