nakedness of the soul

Today’s reading from The Screwtape Letters talks about the objectified God. I resonated with it deeply, especially when thinking about the group of people I met in China. It’s funny that I grew up there, and I used to be just like them. However, when I was deeply rooted in this collective consciousness, I wasn’t aware of it at all. That’s the frightening power of brainwashing through invisible daily encounters. But there is light in it as well. Can you imagine if all of us collectively believed in the true Light at the same time? What kind of revolution would that bring? Just thinking about it fills me with joy.

“This real nakedness of the soul in prayer—you will be helped by the fact that the humans themselves do not desire it as much as they suppose. There’s such a thing as getting more than they bargained for!”

Such a true statement. The lack of longing for an intimate relationship with God is the greatest barrier to reaching Him. And in this, we are losing the most valuable thing in the entire universe. I see it, and I feel an urgency to cry out and warn them. But Father God, You have tried again and again for all eternity to wake them, yet so many still choose to sleep. I feel Your pain and Your love. I choose to be Your humble servant and warrior, fighting for the Light. This is what my heart and soul long for, use me and guide me.
