This morning was our Practice Solitude small group meeting. All the ladies were so open, we talked about God and shared childhood traumas. In the midst of that, we were just in awe of how God brought us together. It’s so intentional and well planned. The stories we shared were exactly what each of us needed.
I cried like a baby, but I wasn’t embarrassed at all. I feel so much healing and deep bonding within this space, where God’s strong presence touched each of our hearts.
During the sharing, one of the ladies mentioned a very interesting 21-day solitude program. You get the chance to completely separate yourself from all distractions— no Wi-Fi, no digital devices, no books, and even no exercise. It mimics how Jesus was in the desert.
There is no website or phone number for this program, it’s only spread by word of mouth. One of the men who went through this program said, “This is the most difficult thing I have ever done in my life, but also the most transformative event for my soul.”
I want to experience that kind of solitude before I die. I think it’s beneficial for all humans. Because on a spiritual level, we’re all going to die alone, there’s no one but ourselves when we confront death itself.
