Rhythm of God

Rhythm of God

Surrendering myself to God freed me from the driver’s seat of my life, and now I am sitting in the passenger seat. This shift has given me more time and space to really pay attention to the journey. I have noticed that there is a pace that makes everything happen, and this pace is usually very different from my own. I want to call it the Rhythm of God!

When I used to do things, I expected instant feedback. If I didn’t get it, I would rush around to ensure I did, and if the feedback was negative, I would hustle to change it. Now, I step aside and watch how God leads the way and what He brings before me, embracing everything as it is.

I have been making more effort to keep myself in the passenger seat and simply watch the scenery outside the window. And I love it. The more I sit in the passenger seat, the more I see God’s rhythm. One thing I keep seeing is that He is in everything and always present in my life. Now, when nothing seems to be happening, I feel in my heart that God is working diligently to bring things to fruition, so all His beloved children can be close to Him again.

I used to hate being still, but now, in the stillness, I feel God’s diligent arrangements. I love experiencing God’s working rhythm, and I want my life to be fully and continuously centered in the rhythm of God.

No coincidence, only God

The topic of this week’s small group was grief and loss. S shared that she lost her cat this past January, and the impact was much bigger than she had anticipated. As we talked through how she is healing from the grief, I asked her to show me a picture of the cat. To our amazement, her cat looked exactly like mine. We were both shocked.

She also shared another story from her teenage years. She went to China with her parents on a missionary trip, where they were smuggling Bibles into the country. This happened before I was even born.

It’s funny how God handpicks certain people for us to meet in life, and the more you get to know each other, the more you see why.

My heart is overflowing with wonder and joy!
